Sharpening

With Capture One 3 there were two preset sharpening settings: standard and 'soft look'. The soft look was recommended as being better as I recall. Now, having just started the move to C1 5 I find that these settings are available on the menu, but there are others to. Now, which is the 'recommended' setting for C1 5?

    Apparently, choice has a downside. I use the default setting but don't recommend it (because I do not recommend my settings by default). 😉

    Instead I recommend you to do what you prefer. Sharpening has been revised in CO 4 & 5 and since CO 3, so I suggest you run some tests. You could also do a search here because it has been discussed here regularly and recently. And as you might have guessed, there is no recommended setting for sharpening. It serves so many purposes, different workflows and personal taste, the what's best discussion is ongoing.

    Nevertheless, enjoy CO 5!

    Depends what you're shooting, how you're using the images, the size you're presenting them, and personal taste.

    'It depends' is very true, but...

    If you were happy with v3 soft sharpen then you can keep using the equivalent.
