Importing images in wrong order
I have uninstalled and reinstalled capture one 11 multiple times on my mid-2015 MacBook Pro and every time I import photos from my a7rii it's in a totally random order. Even though I sort the photos by date in the import dialogue. Whats going on?

Are you sorting the images by date in the browser after the images are imported? 0 -
Yes, I am. The problem is I rename via the import window. For example Photo 4 is now photo 7 and photo 2 is now photo 20. So I sort by date in the browser then batch rename the files to be correct. I never had this problem in capture one and I've been using since version 8, and every version so forth. 11 is the first to give me this issue. 0 -
I have exactly the same problem with the same workflow while importing from a Fuji X-T2… 0 -
I'm having exactly the same issue with with Nikon d500 images. Have tried importing to both a a session, and a catalogue directly from the camera and also from a folder on my hard-drive. I've sorted by both name and date in the import window. In each case the images are imported and numbered in seemingly random order. If I sort by date the images are fine but the numbering is incorrect.
Actually I had the same issue when C1 10 was first released also and it was corrected in a subsequent update.0 -
Same problem here. Never had issues until upgrading to C1 v11.0. Importing from Leica M240 from Sandisk Extreme 45MB/s, 32GB card.
It does not seem to be completely random. If you repeat multiple times, photos are imported in unsorted order, but each time in the same unsorted order. Ordering photos in import window based on name or date has no effect. Also switching duplicate check (the new functionality) on or off has no effect.
Annoying, as I rename on import using a counter, and this counter is now all over the place. I guess next time wait until .1 version is available instead of buying upgrade immediately...0 -
Of course, same problem here. (Nikon D810)
My solution is to import to a Capture One 10 Session and then upgrade to 11. Doesn't help anyone using a Catalog, though.
So, is this just on a Mac? Or, windows, too. (I didn't see any discussion in their forum.)
This should teach me not to be an early adopter!0 -
Same problem here, with a Sony a7r III. 0 -
Have any of you filed support cases? 0 -

yes, but just today.0 -
This issue has been accepted as a bug. 0 -
On Dec 04 this is what support sent in reply after I sent a detailed video capture of what is going on.
"...Be on the lookout for the first service release's release notes to confirm that this has been fixed."
Hopefully the Service Release won't be too long in arriving.0 -
Hi,
Has there been a fix for ths? I am running into the same problem. Capture one 11.0.0.282. Mac OS Sierra. Canon 5d Mark IV.0 -
Hello,
Same thing here. I confirmed the import window was sorted by date and the images are still named in a random order. I then have to sort by date in the main Library view and do a batch rename. Not the end of the world but definitely a pain. Any ETA on the next update release?0 -
Pending a fix there seems to be a workaround. Make sure you use the Naming feature in the Import Images dialog, even if you do not want to rename.
I got this workaround as feedback from a client who reported this issue to Phase One support.
Not tested, but worth a try.0 -

This is not working for me – I still have to import in C1 v10… not really comfortable.0 -
Fixed now for me with 11.0.1 0 -
