    Hi Mike.

C1 has keywords for quite some time, but revamped keywords and added keyword libraries in version 9. I generally highly recommend "Capture One" videos at Youtube,

e.g. Capture One Pro 9 | Working with Keywords and Keyword Libraries

I am still on version 8 but think I can answer one or the other question.

    1. I'd say yes. You can use "user presets" on import (under "adjustments" "styles". From virtually any tool in C1 you can create user presets (adjustments you have made with that tool) by clicking on the icon with 3 bars at the second-most right side position in that tool. I assume it works with keywords too (select a dummy image, enter /assign keywords, then save as user preset.

    4. yes, can be used in smart collections.

    5. If you start typing in the first letters of a child keyword the "full path" is shown and you can select it, e.g. eagle>bird>animal.
There is another way to assign keywords, that is drag the image(s) to the keyword in the Filter tool. Dragging to eagle will add the whole path.

A side question. For sure you can filter for ratings, colours, keywords, exif/iptc data etc.Two ways of doing it, use the bar in the browser or use the filter tool in the libraries tool tab.

Hope it helps a bit to get into it, needs some practising though.

    cheers
