hi,

is there a way to change the size of the generated previews? i am running on a 30" lcd and would love to work with images which fill a larger area of my screen.

  Not with the current 3.7x releases. It just sample 25% of the original raw data for the preview. You can use the magnifying tool to temporarily increase the displayed preview, but it will be blocky looking because it will just be a rough up-sample of that 25% data. If you scale all the way up to 400% in the preview, the high quality preview, is based on the full raw data, but it is not optimized for work and changes to the image settings may be less than real-time.
  
  The current version of Capture One was created quite a while before anyone had 30 inch screens or the hardware to crunch 8+ megapixels in real-time. But the 4.0 release is being updated to match today's computers and cameras. It is claimed to be able to work at 1:1 with raw data and still be 4 times faster than the 3.7 series.
  
  Hopefully, you won't have to live with the small previews much longer.
