Importing Windows Session Files

I have been trying to import a C1 4.8 Session File from a Windows Vista machine onto my Mac Pro running OS 10.5.7 and I get the error message, "The session file named /Volumes/.../CaptureOne.col45 was saved by the Windows version of Capture One and cannot be read by this application."

The same thing happens when I try to import my Mac .col45 file on the Windows machine. Are C1 4.8 files not interoperable?

Please advise.

  Whether Capture One generated files are transferrable to another machine, either same platform or cross-platform (Win/Mac) is not very well documented yet as far as I know.
  Session files are not transferrable cross-platform and are only theoretically transferrable on the same platform due to path names in the .col45 session file. The settings files however are transferrable cross-platform as are a number of CO generated files (styles among others).
  
  I have looked into this recently for ALL files CO4 creates on both Mac & Win but have not finished my findings yet to publish it somewhere on the net (but satisfied my curiosity though).
