iMac Retina - improving C1 V9 performance
I thought I'd start a new thread for potential fixes that work to improve C1 V9 performance. In the other thread, I posted that my late 2015 27 inch Retina iMac with 16gb was running C1 V9 very slowly and the sliders were choppy.
I've installed an additional 16gb of memory (OWC) bringing me to 32 GB and am currently editing a 500+ image wedding. C1 is now running very well and responsively. I'm running PS5 with Portrait Professional and Shine-Off plugins too, as well as Nik filters as apps.
C1 appears to be using 9.68GB of memory, but with all the rest of my apps and overhead, memory is at 18.52GB. So no more compressed memory or swap files. Cached files are 5.59 GB. I'm about 50 images into the edit. I'm running 2 screens with the main C1 edit screen on the 27 inch display with some floating windows on an older 23 inch cinema display.
Previews are set for 3840 px. The catalog is on my 1 TB internal fusion drive while the Nikon and Olympus raw files are on an external OWC USB3 500GB drive.
So I'm pleased again after a rough time upgrading from V8. If things change I'll be sure to update you!

Could you provide two more details of considerable interest: - i5 or i7 ?[/*:2rm3r58s]
- How many images in the catalog?[/*:2rm3r58s]
Thanks

Eric,
It's an I7 with 2gb GPU. The catalog has 627 raws in it. I start a new catalog for each wedding.0
