Using the Move-To folder over a network
Does anyone have suggestions or experience using a Move-To folder for an active session over a network?
We are a high-volume studio, with four photographers shooting all day, every day, on separate capture stations. We'd like to network all four sets to a single digitech on a fifth computer who can do all of the processing, freeing up the photographers to concentrate on their shooting. My first thought is to have each of the photographers choose a folder on the digitech's computer and designate it as the Move-To folder for their session, continually transferring their selected files over the network to the digitech. However, I've often been warned against using P1 in an actively networked environment.
Does anyone have experience with this, and alternate recommendations?

Capture One does not have a great track record for working over a network (NAS, file server). However, that does not exclude successful implementations.
The interesting workflow suggestion you offer here is typically different. Besides storing files from the application on a network share, I understand the files can be read both by the capturing photographer AND the digitech. In addition, the digitech might open images at one time from different capturing workstations (that's why quoted the active session from your post). This might be possible, might work but I am almost sure Capture One was not designed that way. (it has to do with file and record locking on operating system and application level).
I suggest you setup a test with one capturing station to the digitech station. Plan your folders, folder shares and permissions carefully. For example, create a main shared folder on the digitech station for each capturing station with separate shares each and permissions to keep track of images. Create the move-to folder to be in that main folder (from the capturing station?). And so on.
Move, edit and delete files from both sides. I hope you have Ethernet (not Wifi) running between the systems, preferably at gigabit speed.
To expand the test, note that your digitech station due to the shares, must be running always when you start Capture One from a capturing station, otherwise the session might break of a lost folder. And when you remove a (move-to) folder from the digitech station the same can happen. Difficult to make this idiot ehhh, bullet proof.0
