Performance difference (OpenCL or not)?
Hi,
my graphics card is not supported by C1 and I have to work without OpenCL. I am considering now to buy another graphics card for me. For this I need to know how big the performance difference is if you use OpenCL or not?

This will tell you where Open CL is used but not how much faster it will be.

I haven't noticed huge differences with Open CL but then I have it switched off a lot of the time as C1 seems to be a bit buggy when its on.0 -

It can be a lot faster! How fast depend on your current CPU, your hard drive and so on.
- If you have and old CPU and brand-new state-of-the-art GPU you could have up to 10-15-times the performance when processing.
- Your hard drive can become a bottle-neck, if it cannot write the data-fast-enough.
- With a current CPU and current higher-end GPU the difference in processing is probably around 2-5x.
- You will also see that your Viewer will be much more responsive when making adjustments to a file.0 -

Well, try enabling it again 😉 A lot has happened since 7.0.0 -
I try with each new update 😉 0 -
I have a new "spezial" Mac 😄

Samsung 840 EVO 500 GB
MSI GeForce GTX 770 2GB0 -

the processing speed is one thing (personally I don't care and switch Open CL off for processing). The big difference - for me - is how C1 redraws the previews. With Open CL enabled (given you use a supported, fast graphics card) previews redraw in instantly without noticable lag when adjusting an image (exposure, curve... whatever).
