5D MkII Raw support

It's working for me, but unfortunately this 'preliminary' implementation isn't very good. The colors are way off, most often showing a strong green cast. Also, some of the images are showing this odd 'pixel patter' I guess I would call it.

I tried converting the files to DNG with the latest DNG converter from Adobe. It seems closer to the mark and that odd pattern goes away, but still not quite right.

Hopefully P1 can get their hands on a body and make a proper profile soon!

Cant you guys just give us a propper 5D MII generic profile at least for downloads?. The current one is really crappy.

I don't think it's just a profile but I am sure these guys are working on it. It is the drawback of being an early adopter of a new camera type/model.

As per release notes of CO 4.5.2, the 5D MkII preliminary support is for RAW (i.e. full RAW) only, no sRAW1 or sRAW2. Maybe this prevents some crashes.

    quick update...

We were planning on a pre-Christmas release, however it looks like it is going to come just after the New Year Holiday. It is essentially ready to go however we want to make sure we have a chance to put the final release through our proper test procedures. With the holidays in full swing we haven chosen to delay the release rather than pull R&D away from their families.

Thanks Jon for the heads up. Deadlines are killing, but quality assurance is paramount. Happy holidays for you both at Phase One and to forum members and all the best for 2009.

Diary note I foresee: during Christmas 2008 I dusted off my DPP skills and did put them to rest again a few weeks later... 😁
