I'm only getting one moveable horizontal guide. How do I add a second vertical one???

  You can add guides from the menu. 'View' - 'Add Guide' - 'horizontal', or - 'vertical'. Multiple guides are possible for both directions. It is possible to assign keyboard shortcuts to these menu entries.
