Adding a photo in a current session
Hi!
Is there any way to add a photo or photos in a current session or catalog? Every time I do so it deletes everything and replaces it with the photo/s I add. Is there a way to recover the replaced session or catalog?
Bests,
Peter

You should be able to do this easily (if I have understood correctly what you want to do). I typically run a session for a while (just for amateur use - no doubt pro needs might vary) like for example a session called "Summer holiday". I can add more photos to it by using the import dialog. Either I just put my SD card in, and the dialog opens, or if the photos I wanted to add were already on the computer, I could click the import arrow icon and navigate to wherever the photos were on the computer. (Or as an alternative you can use the library tool in Capture One and move photos from elsewhere in the file system into say your Capture folder, using drag-and-drop.)
What is not recommended is to use the computer file system outside of Capture One to move photos - that way it is impossible for Capture One to keep track of where they are.
How are you adding photos? Some other way?

I do it the same way you do but as soon as I add a photo/s in a session I'm currently working on it deletes all the files and the adjustments I have done with it. Thanks for the response anyway.

Di you mean "deletes" or do you mean that whatever you could see before on screen is no longer visible?
If you are working with an open session you will typically be opening images in different System folders. C1 works folder by folder in that situation. So if you open a new image in a previously unused folder you will not see any images you viewed in other folders. However if you browse back to images in a previously edit folder everything should still be there.
If you want all images in a single folder - put them in a single folder either pre-processing or by moving things around post-processing. So long as you do that within C1 the session database should stay in good shape.
If this suggestion does not seem to fit what you are seeing then what you see is different to what I see so either you have a problem with the session you use or the procedure you are going through is different. In the latter case I think we would be better able to advise if you could describe what you do in some detail for full understanding.
Alternatively create a Support Case and let the Support Team assess what is going on.
