question regarding C1 v5
i used to use v3.5 a few years ago --- i have now decided to get back into using c1 v5
enough of the history lesson
my question is this --- when you edit in capture one and then exit out of the program, when you re-start it remembers your changes. are these edits embedded into the RAW files or are they stored somewhere else??
is it similiar to Lightroom?
any help will be greatly appreicated
thank you

As far as I am aware they are stored elsewhere. The people at Phase One are hot on the fact that your RAW file is sacrosanct and nothing should alter it in any way.

Capture One (any version from 1.0 to 5.0.1=current) does not change or alter the raw file. Any adjustment in CO4 or 5 you make is stored in a settings file which is unique for that image and its file name.
Each folder with raw files will have a CaptureOne folder in it after Capture One opens the folder the first time. Inside that subfolder Capture One stores both the preview/focus files (Cache\Proxies) in one subfolder and the adjustment files in the other (Settings50 for CO5).
To archive you can delete the preview/focus files; no work lost. Save the Settings50 folder with your adjustments if you like.
When you delete or move raw files from within Capture One, CO4/5 will also clean up or move the parallel files in the Proxies and Settings folders for that image.0 -
thank you so much for the info
