The "Copy from last" features and kind of fun are only available is CO7 is doing the tethering, not when you shoot with the Hot Folder feature.

Thanks Paul, I kind of thought that was the case. Now I know this will cause trouble, but here goes anyway.

If PhaseOne allow tethered shooting, and in fact they have a specific setting for it as mentioned in my original post, would it not make sense to actually implement it in a manner that makes it a useful and attractive feature. As each image is written into the watched folder, would it not make sense to be able to apply a set of default adjustments, even just ICC and WB would be a start (you know, like Lightroom does) sorry but it had to be said. Now I hate Lightroom, but it does get some things right, and this is one of them, and it does the same for card imports, you can tell it to apply a whole set of adjustments to a card as it is importing files into the catalogue. Can C1 do that?

Of course the obvious solution is simply to support the Leics S cameras so I can add one to the two Leaf DBs and the Canon that I have, and still use one software for all of my cameras.

    Kind regards,
    Jason.

Regarding tethered support, not only Phase One but also Leica is involved. The fact that there is not Leica S2 support, beyond generic DNG, in Capture One comes from the fact the with the appearance of the S2 both companies have become competitors. At least, that is my understanding.

You could however do a feature request in a support case requesting adjustment of style being applied on images in a hot folder. It would make that feature more interesting.

Curiosity: how satisfied are you with raw (DNG) support of CO7 for your S2 files?

I realise that Leica may not be supplying you with a "SDK" as Canon and Nikon do, and I will be voicing my displeasure about this to them, don't you worry about that.

As for being competitors? Not really, this may be based upon the faulty assumption that people only own one camera. As I stated, I am looking to ADD a S2 to my kit. I will not be replacing my AptusII, if anything the S2 is a replacement for the Canon I have. Just think if I add an S2, you will get to sell me another copy of C1Pro, as I currently us DB.

If support is not an option, a simple addition to the Hot folder enable configuration, would solve my problems.

If you could simply have the program automatically apply styles as images are detected in the hot folder, the same way you can when importing from an external device (CF Card, SD Card, Network Drive, etc) something Capture One can certainly do, default adjustments, auto adjustments or preset user styles, that would do.

I realise you have your hands full at the moment, with everyone getting their panties in a bunch about V7 not being perfect, but this could be a great feature as it would allow users of any camera to tap into C1 without official support.

    Kind regards,
    Jason.

Ps. The raw files from the S2 look fine in CO7, Lens profiles would be nice though.

    Hi photo570,

As you speak currently to your peers, the Capture One users including myself, I think you just made a great contribution and clear statement to the perception of competitors in the marketplace for both Phase One and Leica.

I suggest you use a support case to get a direct response from Phase One, which you might want to use in your Leica communications.

We, the photographers, only benefit if we can work in a open platform, without boundaries. Software is a different vehicle than hardware, and limitations do not create benefits for anybody in todays marketplace.

My 2 cts, well, make it 3. 😉

    Hi Jason,

Out of interest, the S2 is bundled with Lightroom, correct? I just made a quick scan of the Leica website but couldn't see anything in writing, but this is how I remember it.

You could apply a style to a batch very quickly, maybe in pauses between shooting.

But Paul is right. Submit a case so the request is official.

    David.

    Paul,

Couldn't agree more, and yes I have a support case running, but whomever is replying to me doesn't seem to "Get it". But I will keep banging away at it, and I am talking to the Leica rep in my country, who is happy to pass things along to Leica, as they have a role to play here too.

    David,

Yes the S2 comes with Lightroom (as do all new Hasselblads now, 😉 ).

No need for batches and such, you just shoot a test with a grey card, set WB and any other adjustments you like, set that as the camera default and off you go, all settings applied as you shoot tethered. Easy as pie.

But compared to CO LR tethering is DOG SLOW, lets just leave it at that. It works and it makes sense, but it is not ideal.

I just want to be able to use one software program with all of my cameras be they Leaf, Phase, Canon, or the Leica if I choose to buy it. I am trying really hard to like the S2, and am grateful to the Leica agent here who has given me one to use for over a week (free I might add, no rental) but without CO support beyond the current level I doubt I will bite.

    Hopefully things will change.

    Cheers,
    Jason.

    Hi,
I just found this thread as I'm considering checking out the Leica S to add to my line up. I do not like LR. I really like C1pro. Any updates....?????
