Functionality of a tethered Canon
From what I can see, you can't do much with a Canon camera when tethered to C One 6 other than capture and view (with the view features of zoom, loupe, etc.) No camera controls (iso, aperture, shutter, etc.) . "Camera counter" number is not sequential to the last untethered shot taken.
Is the only way to apply a white balance correction from your first test shot by using the "Next capture adjustment" panel?
Am I missing something?

CO6 to DSLR tethering involves shutter release (obviously), ISO (some models), next capture adjustments and camera counter options.
I do not follow your camera counter issue exactly. Maybe you like to share more details about your settings, actions and results.0 -
It was with a 400D, I only seemed able to get a sequential session number (001,002, etc.) despite using the camera counter token in the file naming set-up. But you're saying it should work, Paul? Or is it only with the higher-end/more current models? I know the Canon camera counter feature disappeared for a few generations of C One, which was not entirely C One's fault. 0 -
To be honest John, I have not used tethering that often with my Canon. I love to go through the details with you but my Canon is in repair right now, so you have to wait another week or so or maybe someone else jumps in. 0 -
The 400D was someone else's. I'll get a chance to try another Canon next week myself.Be interested in any other comments.

The Canon SDK used in CO 6 probably no longer supports the 400D which is why you no longer have those controls available. I know Canon no longer supports the 5D in their SDK, and the 5D if memory serve me correctly only came out a few months before the 400D. 0 -
Thanks, Paul. I'll make sure it's a later model I try next time.
