Assigning an Image City and State

Hello,
I'm new to C1. There's an excellent filter option for image city and state; but I have not been successful in assigning these values to my images for filtering. Can someone step me thru the process? Thank you from Connecticut.

  Go to the tool tab Metadata (circled "i") and type your IPTC data in the respective fields. In the library tool tab, filter you can then drag & drop an image (variant) rom the browser to the respective city, state etc. to add it to the other selected images.
  
  I would like to encourage you to take the tours through the Phase One videos on youtube, and also the online help files are not bad.

  Thank you BeO; that was really helpful. it was a 100% solution to my problem.
  I have taken a couple of the webinars and the tutorials. the tutorials are great; but David Grover's webinars are exceptionally valuable.
