Camera Body "BASE CHRACTERISTICS"
Paul,
Gosh I guess I stumbled on good correction workflow—thanks for your confirmation. I’ve always worked outside of the box starting with my first Leica, a 3C, oh! so many years ago…
Here’s another question/comment… We have a 20D, 40D and 5D Mk 2; our library/archive of photographs encompasses photographs from all of these bodies.
Last night in a playful mood I decided to see how the “BASE CHRACTERISTICS†of the other Canon bodies handled a photograph taken with a 20D. When the 5D Mk 2 was selected the photograph changed dynamically for the better. Never one to stop with one example I selected and shifted a dozen or so 20D images to 5D Mk 2. To my eye the photographs improved.
Surely the programmers at Capture One did/do not have this sort of thing in mind. Is there any reason you see why this kind of fiddling would be a problem?
I remember somebody said “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.â€
Ciao,
Tom

Tom,
I assume that you refer to applying a different ICC profile to a raw image (20D in your case) than the one selected automatically. No harm no problem. Do it if you like. People do it all the time. Playful mood late in the evening, just like you said. (People eventually come to their senses the next morning 😁 )0
