ver 5 keeps stalling

Just started using ver. 5 today.
Every time I create a new session and shoot a frame, I get a stalling beach ball. Then I have to force quit the app.
Same thing over and over.

Any suggestions?

I'm shooting tethered with Canon 5D MKII, with an iMac with OS 10.6.1.

    Exactly the same equipment yesterday on a busy shoot with really no problem.. Same OS etc alike. Imac 24" 3,06 i think.. But not sure right now.

    I can not use C1PRO Ver. 5 with out it hanging/stalling.
    Please help.

    It's back to lightroom for now.

    I get the spinning beachball often so you're not alone.

    Version 5 seems unstable on my system. Mac Pro Dual-Core 9 GB RAM and 10.6.1. Never had this issue with 4.8.

    Did you check the proof profile (view menu) setting already. Seems not set properly by default creating problems with some users. Default should be: Selected Recipe.

    Just check this post.. There is a pretty helpefull little deinstaler for C1. It deletes all previous versions and settings:

    viewtopic.php?f=21&t=7723

    I did speak to some of my friends who work as digitechs alike and hardly nobody got problems with it. Hope you guys will have propper working machines alike in no time..

    Did everything suggested in addition to deleting all .cop files and I still get the spinning beach ball. I'm going back to 4.8.

    UPDATE: I left C1 running and the beach ball finally went away after 15 minutes. Previews are now generating as normal. Hope this lasts.

    keep in mind that C1 5.0 needs to regenerate your 4.8.3 proxies and create new focus files that go with them. This takes time the first time around in a folder. You should see this happening in the Activity window.

    Nothing seems to be working.
    I uninstalled C1PRO, then reinstalled it.
    I can make a total of 2 sessions, then it hangs, stops transfering images from the camera, beach ball of death.
    I have to force quit C1PRO, and sometimes take the batteries out of my camera to get it to reset.

    I can't figure it out.
