D2x Preview Sizes
For some reason, my D2x previews are sometimes as large as my 1D/s and other times, they are roughly half that size. I can't pin down the exact sequence to make this happen.
Can someone explain?
Thanks.

jrgeoffrion,
Not clear is you mean image file size in MBs within the Previews folder, or the Displayed Preview image in Capture One.
D2x file sizes should be near constant.
Image Preview display can be adjusted at the Zoom too above the image area.

CaptureOne has three main windows, thumbnails, previews, and the controls.
The previews are of various sizes with my D2x files. The thumbnail sizes can be adjusted. Any ideas what would cause this?0 -
jrgeoffrion,
If the D2x RAW files are brought directly into Capture One, and no other software that could alter the RAW image files, the Preview files will be generated; and they will all be nearly the same file size. In the Preview display window there is a Zoom adjustment slider tool from 20% - 800%. If all of your same-sized Previews are viewed at the same percentage zoom, they should always be the exact same size in the display area.
If this is not happening on your machine, the we'll need to investigate further.

Keith,
I think you hit the nail on the head. I think the other images may have been opened with NC4 and the resulting preview size is smaller.
Is there a way to re-generate the previews that were opened in NC4 without losing the settings?

JR,
Preview files can be rebuilt for a Session by deleting them ( .C1p ) from the Previews folder located- C:/Program Files/PhaseOne/CaptureOnePro/Previews
Selecting which ones can be a challenge. You may want to sort by date or possibly size. Remember, image adjustment data are kept within the Work ( .C1w ) files that are also present in this folder. If you've done a lot of work, you will want to preserve these files. All Previews purged will be regenerated upon selecting the Session and hitting icon Refresh contents of current collection
To select only a few specific Previews to rebuild, you can find the filename of the Work and Previews by showing the Meta Data > File > Settings file
[ Ctrl + I ]
If you opened the RAWs in NC4 and did nothing to the image, you may get away with rebuilding the Previews. However, any alteration to the RAW and I understand NC4 does edit the file.
Good Luck,

Thanks a bunch! 0
