Batch processing issues
For the first time, I am processing a large number of images from a job.
The process is not complex at all. Simple jpg files from RAW. Some RAW files have been converted to TIFF's, and some have a scattering of global and local adjustments.
When I process the some odd 125 files, I find that C1 processes the first 50 or so very fast. At the rate of approx. 1 per second, give or take.
Then for no perceptible reason, it just STOPS cold on an image. It chews away for minutes, finally gets through it, and then does a few more...it may sprint through several, or run very slow on the next bunch. It's puzzling.
My files are a mix of RAW between a Sony A7R and A7RII
Any ideas, things to look for etc, would be welcome. I have tried deleting the batch folder, which didn't seem to make a difference in this regard.

I do not have a solution for you, but if you like to take the effort, you could do some benchmarking on your system. The idea is to iron out any variable that could play a role. That could maybe give a clue.
I suggest to take exactly 100 images in a new session or catalog (whatever you use daily), from a single camera model, without any adjustment (import in a new session), image files on local drive, empty batch history, computer fresh boot, start CO 10 and go.
Next, same but change OpenCL setting, reboot, and go. Compare times.
You could have Activity Monitor open while processing.
If all is OK, start with different model image files, adjustments (rotating, layers).
If first test are not OK, contact support and provide log files.
Oh, and you may delete your preferences first to begin with.
Hope this gets you somewhere.0 -
I had a similar issue and turning off OpenCL for processing made the overall process more stable and at the end faster, though the first pictures were processed slower. 0 -
Thank you very much for your suggestions!
I will try and set up some testing. It just seems very odd that it would stall on seemingly random images.0
