    Yes, i confirm.

It is very problematic for me because i use Photo Mechanic for keywords assignment so i need full synchro.

I have open a ticket to the support.

    I can confirm this, too.

With XMP Full Sync on, images stored in the catalog would lose star and tag settings when switching to another collection and back. With it off, that doesn't happen.

But I never saw that problem if the image was stored as a reference, outside the catalog.

I'll be contacting support too, once i"m done here.

Even deleting the XMPs and regenerating them doesn't help. The metadata seems to be syncing with something but not sure what. Also tried deleting all metadata in Photo Mechanic (except EXIF), but no solution there.

My images are referenced, so doesn't seem to have anything to do with them being stored within the catalogue itself.

I have try with XMP sidecar and embedded XMP/IPTC (updated with Photo Mechanic, but it will be the same thing with any other software), same result, if full synchro is activated CO9 always go back to the previous informations.

No work around, only wait bug correction from Phase One.

Is Phase One usually pretty quick about fixing bugs? I've found a number of them, enough to have me back in Lightroom. ☹️

I keep trying to like Capture One because I really haven't been settled in my photo tools since the end of Aperture.

confirmed. major pain in the butt and a nogo for any professional use. what kind of regression testing is actually done for software releases. besides that I'm facing major hangs (beachball for switching from/to tethering taqb) with CO9. not happy.....

So the workaround is to use the "..." on the metainfo window and before going to other software where you need the written XMP data run "Sync Metadata". This will write all the metadata for all the images selected (as long as you have edit all on).

Once you have done your work in the other application and want to sync back the data into the C1 files you need to run the "Read Metadata" from the metainfo "..." drop down and this will load the data for all the selected images (again, as long as you have edit all on).

I'm getting this too. Too lazy to open a duplicate support case, just waiting for the updates.
