way keep using lightroom with Capture One

    I figure because they use Lr for the cataloging part, CO for the raw conversion part.

    Nope. As Jimmy says, Lightroom simply does a better job of some images than Capture One - that's precisely why I use them both.

    For example: improved though they are over Capture One's earlier efforts, it's Shadows and Highlights tools aren't nearly as good as Lightroom's.

    Lightroom also hosts plugins - I can see my focus points in Lightroom: can't in Capture One.

    Even trivial things like the fact that Lightroom's watermarking just works, without the arbitrary (and in my view, broken) way that Capture One does things, is a point in its favour.

    And let's not forget that Lightroom's profiles don't turn Canon images into a sea of browny-orange...
