"Could not process file" error

After some experimenting, it seems that the problem is only with .TIF files after a round trip to Nik Color Efex Pro4.
It is effecting all of the .TIF files that I've tried, including those that I've previously output successfully.

I've tried some of the suggested fixes revealed by web searches, including clearing the Batch Tool history, and deleting the application .plist file.

'Could not process file' usually happens when images are offline. But you are mentioning tiffs. I think your tif files have layers, including an alpha layer. Alpha layers don't work in CO. Remove the alpha layer, or better, flatten the tiff. Then open CO, and try again. Does this work?

For more information search this forum for 'alpha channel' or 'alpha layer'.

It seems that my problem was self inflicted 😊
I had been using the Nik suite as stand alone apps, and it appears that they output layered Tiff files, which display ok in CapOne, but can't be processed for output.
By carrying out the round trip to Photoshop and using the Nik suite as plugins the resulting flattened files work fine.
