Capture One output "unclips" my histograms.
There are some images in which I want true blacks or whites, and I allow the histograms to run off either end accordingly. However, when I open the tiffs in CS5, they usually show that the histogram has been compressed on either end, so that there are no true blacks or whites. Naturally, this produces slightly different contrast than what I had created in C1. My output recipe ICC profile is "Embed camera profile," as is the profile in CS5. Rendering intent is Perceptual in both programs, and PS color space is ProPhoto.
Is this behavior baked into Capture One, or can I set it to reproduce the same histogram in PS?

I suggest that in Photoshop's Color Settings you set "Preserved embedded profiles" for RGB color management policies. Changing the color space on opening makes comparing more difficult. Or set ProPhotoRGB as your output profile in Capture One (less preferred option). 0 -

Paul,
I do have that set for color management policies. ProPhoto is set as my RGB Working Space. Am I missing something?
