    This can have a few causes, but the most common is that you (accidently) use the program in the so-called DB mode. DB stands for digital back, and is the full-featured version of Capture One, it is free, but does not allow you to adjust or process DSLR raw files.

    Check the license state in the Capture One menu. If Capture One DB is selected, choose another option (activate with your key or use the trial period if it still lasts).
