I'm shooting on a Canon 5D Mark II and when I shoot tether to Capture One I don't get a preview of the image on the back of the camera, just a blank screen.
I've gone through settings on both C1 and the camera and can't find how to fix it.
    Any solutions?

If you are shooting tethered with Live View the C1 Live view window replaces the camera's rear screen for the live view display.

If you are not using Live View then the image Preview will appear after you have taken the shot but again in the C1 window not on the camera.

The Canon tethering software, which Capture One uses, effectively means, inter alia, that whatever would have appeared on the camera screen now appears on your computer screen instead.

The alternative approach is to connect the camera to the computer as if the computer is an external storage device for the camera. Effectively another memory "card".

The folder that receives the images on the computer can be set up as a "Hot" folder for Capture One which will then see the new image and display it (if that is the way you want to set things up). The camera body remains in control of the shoot.

Which approach works for you in a particular situation depends on what you are most comfortable with at the time.

    HTH.

This is as designed (by Canon).

if you are using live view simply press the camera live view button than you get the same preview on the camera as with c1, but if you just shoot tethered and need a camera preview i would recommend using the eos utility with a card in the camera and eu set to record on both camera and computer this should work. for c1 use a hot folder setup.

As Paul said, this is normal behavior. When using Canon, and shooting tethered to Capture One, the image is sent directly to Capture One and not saved to the memory card on the camera so the camera can't create an image preview.

There's no way to fix this when shooting tethered to Capture One unless Canon updates their SDK to include this capability.

The only workaround is to use EOS Utilities, and enable hot folders in Capture One, but that's honestly a clunky and terrible way to work.
