Activation Problems
Y'all:
I was forced to reinstall Win7/x64 Ultimate this weekend on my primary machine, including all software... I've installed CaptureOne 6.0 x64 from fresh as well, but it won't activate. When I get the activation screen, I put in my serial number (which PhaseOne support has verified is a valid license key for this product, and shows up on my account screen at PhaseOne), but below there there is a red message that says, "Invalid License Key." The fields for the profile are greyed out, so it can't be a problem with a mismatch between my profile and the key.
I've contacted support. Their answer is threefold:
1. There must be a problem with .net. Since this is a fresh install, I actually went to ms.com and downloaded the latest .net framework from there. My registry entries show I'm running 4.5. I can run the software in trial mode, so I don't see how the net framework could be the piece that's messed up here.
2. There must be some problem with the service pack 1 installation. Of course, this is a fresh install from an image that contains SP1, and MS update doesn't show any other updates that need to be installed, so I can't see where SP1 would be a problem.
2. There must be some problem with the permissions on my user account. This doesn't make any sense to me, since I can, again, run the software in trial mode.
Does anyone else on the board have any ideas, since PhaseOne support seems to have run out of ideas on how to get past this?

As a test, I've also created a second admin user account on my system and tried to activate CaptureOne from that account. The same error appears there as well, so it's not permissions with my user account. 0 -
I pulled up the support case to have a look.
The circumstances seem fairly strange but I would urge you to continue moving forward with support while they explore the possible causes for the issue. Currently the three causes you have listed were all brought forward as possible conflicts, not certainties. They'll help you get to the bottom of it, just have faith and be patient 😄0
