FEATURE REQUEST: Disable tool tips
hello,
it would be nice to have a setting to hide / remove these yellow tooltips
They can be useful at the beginning, but after a while they become annoying since they cover part of the values.
E.g. you can't see the previous values holding the ALT key

thanks,
Andrea

Even with the tool tips many find it challenging to discover the fullness of the rich feature set available!
Allow them to be hidden before a new user has discovered what is possible seems inadvisable.
Personally I have never been bothered by the way they are deployed. Quite the opposite. And it seems to me that nothing obscures any values that I am likely to want to see when using any value related adjustment tool. If I cannot see the adjustment values when considering clicking the tool reset icon (temporary or otherwise) it does not bother me.
However if you wish to make this a formal suggestion you need to create and Support Case so that Phase can register the idea and assess how many people are asking for it.
Here we are just a User to User facility.
HTH.

I'm squinting really hard, but at least in the given example, this makes no sense whatsoever.
You're supposed to be looking at the image when ALT+Resetting a tool. Covering the default values is completely irrelevant; specially since they are default! 😄0 -

In addition the warning (and therefore the extent of the overlay box) relates to having multiple variants selected. It's shorter and smaller with only one.
If one does have multiple variants selected seeing the values of the currently identified primary in a remove (or temporarily remove) situation is not terribly relevant I would suggest. That is one of the larger boxes to be displayed - most are smaller.
The context sensitivity here is highly relevant especially in the early days of use when newcomers are often unfamiliar with the concept of "edit All or Edit Primary only".
The thing is, from a personal perspective, even after several years of using C1 and therefore having these popouts appear all the time as I tend not to use many keyboard shortcuts, I rarely notice them. And certainly do not find them annoying.
It's something I had really thought about until today.

hi Grant,
thanks for this useful advice.
In my opinion making a rough average between the automatic values and the "default" often gives the best results, and that's why I believe hiding pop-ups (and see underneath values) can be useful.
If you like, you can keep them forever, otherwise it would be nice to disable them.
I won't comment other "fancy" thoughts...

I mean that most defaults are 0, with very few exceptions such as sharpening or noise reduction; but even then they are either always the same or very predictable if you use the program for more than a couple days.
Thinking really hard about this I might see a point with the white balance tool; but if you're fine tuning that, it doesn't even matter.0
