Capture one 5 not detecting Canon 40D

I just downloaded the capture one 5 and i can't get the program to detect my camera, the capture tool does not even appear in my tool box, is this a software problem or camera problem?

    Sounds like the PRO version is not activated. If you have a PRO key, use that key to activate and you'll get the functionality to tether the 40D. Or you can try the PRO version if you don't have a PRO key just yet.

    i received a Key but i am not sure if it is a PRO key or not. If it is not how do i obtain the PRO key?

    When activated you can see the status in the About or License menu item. If says Capture One or Capture One Pro. You can upgrade from regular to Pro from the Phase One web shop.
