Event date format

I have just opened my catalog on my new MacBook Pro and I found that all the event date formats have changed to the US style date (i.e. mmddyy). The I checked the date format on y mac I saw that it was set to US dates. I have now changed this to the UK format (i.e. ddmmyy).
However the date format on my catalog is till US. How do I change this back to a UK date format ?

  Up. The same issue, can't find the answer. Capture one, come on! Literally the entire world uses the correct format of ddmmyy, and you stuck mmddyy as a forced default? Solve this, please!
