Using Affinity Photo for pano stitching
Capture One (Mac) comes with scripts enabling it to send a group of images to Photoshop for pano stitching.
I'm finding that Affinity Photo's new stitching capability is excellent and would like to have Capture One perform the same action with AP as it does with Photoshop.
I'd appreciate any ideas people have for creating an AppleScript to "Stitch with Affinity Photo". I think the overall process would look very similar to the current script.
Thanks for any ideas.

I can get CO to open Affinity Photo image files. So if you get the images to Photo, stitch them, and save the result, I don't know that CO will open the resulting file. 0 -
I don't expect any problem with C1 opening flattened TIFFs from Affinity Photo. What I'm hoping for is that someone with more AppleScripting experience than me can help me script the export of a batch of images to AP and then kick off the AP stitching process. Eventually I'd like to have the script pause for tweaks in AP and then flatten the image and return the TIFF to C1. 0 -

I can't get CO to open Affinity Photo panos as either TIFF or PSD. Only JPG works. I have a support ticket in on that.0 -

Have you actually done the import and checked the images after?
I ask because I thought I also had a problem importing some AP Panos. When I navigated to the folder C1 would only show me blank thumbnails. Nonetheless, I selected the files for import and, after the import process was complete, I opened the folder and clicked on the (still blank) thumbnails. The thumbnail immediately displayed and showed me the image. Exactly the same thing happened with the second pano.
I have never had this happen in C1 before, but it did import and show me the images after some coaxing.0 -

I can't do the import. The import dialog won't even show me the file - no filename, no blank preview box, nothing. It's as if the file is not there.
I have a support request in and they are looking at the problem. I sent them a TIFF file from Affinity Photo to play with.0 -

Please post what you find out. As I said I have a problem, but apparently mine is not as serious as yours.
Have you posted on the AP forum? I looked, but did not see anything like this there. I am pretty sure that if you tell the AP folks about this issue they will try to fix the problem (or at least explain what it might be). They have done that for my issues involving AP and C1. While they did not "fix" the alpha channel issue (since they said it was not a bug), they did tell me how to work around the issue so that C1 will understand the file.0 -
Just to let you all know
try Autopano Giga it does Raw files so no need to export
once it is done then adjustments can be made0 -

It looks like CO can't read Affinity Photo files because of the way AF saves layers, even if there are no layers in the file, according to PO support. If an AF file is opened in Ps and saved as a flattened TIFF, then CO can import it.
PO is continuing to look into this.0 -

Just did: https://affinity.serif.com/forum/index. ... pture-one/0 -
There have been posts about AP file compatibility with CO for quite some time, hence I knew to flatten AP TIFFs before trying to use them in CO.
I'm still surprised with how relatively intolerant Capture One is of image files. It won't read OnOne's TIFFs because they contain Alpha channels; won't read AP TIFFs unless they're flattened; won't read PSD files, although those are very common with digital photographers, etc. I was hoping that Phase One would have addressed these basic compatibility issues in v9, but it just didn't happen.0 -

I don't have any problem with C1 reading my AP tiffs if I am a bit careful and both flatten them and use the Matte command. Once those are done C1 has been able to open all of my AP photos. It is a pain, but I have set up keyboard shortcuts so it does not take much time.
It would be even better if AP had the Macro Persona implemented.0
