Nope, have to download the entire program each time, no incremental updates.

Thank u kind sir for responding and enlightening me ........ 😊

It seems as if I have been expecting too much from the C1 makers /developers....

Personally I prefer an update that is complete.

I can then install it seperately and make sure I am comfortable before deploying fully.

From the developer's perspective they at least know what should be installed and what the end result should be. If anything seems to go wrong they know where to look as far as code that they control is concerned. All the other crud forced on by Operating Systems and Development Platforms is another matter.

Once upon a time incremental updates were the industry's way of providing speedier service and avoiding the production costs of disk, documentation and distribution .... followed by the support headaches.

In a mostly High Speed connected, Cloudy world the majority of applications are not a lot bigger than one or two digital music albums. I much prefer a complete download. Remember the old days when a system failure that required a re-installation meant going back to find an original version download and then all the incremental updates since that date? Not a lot of fun nor a useful use of time.

In addition I suspect that there is probably enough changed in 8.1 compared to 8.0.2 to require a substantial part of the code to be updated anyway.

In our world or limited ressources, ressource allocation is important. If incremental updates is more complex and has more potential side-effects (which I believe), I think it is a wise decision not to allocate development ressources to such a feature, as development capacity used for other areas certainly add a greater value.

Neh, I prefer full updates versus. Less likely things to go wrong.

Is the 8.1 update free to those with 8.0, or do I have to pay for it?

It's unclear from the download page. The impression given is that it's a 30 day trial.

    Thanks.

The update is free for users with a CO 8 license.
