Watermark: ttf and otf fonts

The watermark function works fine with TrueType fonts (.ttf). Unfortunately, most of my installed fonts are OpenType (.otf) fonts. I get an error message: "The selected font settings could not be applied to the watermark." Does anyone know a workaround to allow the use of OpenType fonts in the Watermark function?
