Imported catalog has no images

I cannot import a catalog with several projects in that catalog's User Collections into my main catalog. When imported, the structure of the imported catalog is displayed within a group labeled with the name of the imported catalog, and below that, a new group named for the project, and below that the project and its albums. However, no images appear in the projects or albums.

I have tried exporting the the User Collection as a catalog with the idea of importing it, but that just exports the structure, not the images. I believe this may be a feature to allow you to duplicate a structure.

However, I can export and import each project individually.

This workaround is an inconvenient approach. Prior to version 11, I would group images taken in the field into projects in a single catalog and import it into my main catalog. The structure appeared just as in the source catalog with the corresponding imported images in each project and album. This made importing a catalog with multiple projects a one step process.

I am submitting this to Support, but wonder if others have encountered this since upgrading to version 11.

    The support folks suggested a clean uninstall and reinstall. I did, but still, the import stopped after the structure was imported.

    After several efforts to import a catalog into another catalog only imported the structure, I toggled back and forth from my custom workspace to the default and back. After this, the problem disappeared. Go figure. Magic? Different time of day? Intermittent problems like this drove me nuts as a database software coder. Very annoying to have a customer with a problem that could not be constantly replicated, especially when it occurs and then resolves on two different computers.

    I think I recall a method for importing only the structure of a catalog. I do not recall the key combination for this, but my problem, prior to its spontaneous remission, looked like that. Activity simply stopped after the structure was imported.

    For the moment, things are working, but I have no idea why they did not, before.
