Capture One not loading pictures any more

Hi, I am running Capture One 4 on a relatively new iMAc with 8 GB. Everything was was running fine, but since a few days Capture does not load pictures any more. When opening a folder it shows the pictures, and the one selected says "loading ..." - but nothing happens. After about 5 MInutes OSX shuts down Capture One and creates a lengthy error report. I re-installed the SW, but as all imported pictures were still available, I do not think that I deinstalled the SW completely. Anybody with any idea what to do? Or where I could help?   I had this issue with earlier versions of C1 6, so perhaps it was an issue that was around already back then.
  
  In short, this happened for me when there either was a corrupt cache file in the CaptureOne subfolder associated to the picture folder, or a corrupt .cos settings file accordingly. Deleting the corrupt file(s) fixed the problem for me.
