Tethered P25 problem
I experienced a tethered problem today on location, here's the story
For some years now I had 1 license for C1 Pro/DB running/activated on a my studio computer 1 and a laptop (XP, 32bit, sp3 ok)
In the meantime I have this license 1 running and activated on two studio computers 1 and 2 and bought a new Pro license for the laptop where I previsously deleted C 5.01 entirely.
Got now a second Pro license key, activation was easy and fast, newest 5.* is up and running fine...but...it can't recognize my P25 anymore ("Camera Error" pop-up), it the same C1 software version as my studio desktop computer, the same XP version, the PCmCIA Firewire belkin Card was also ok with 3* and 5.* too, with the old key, but not anymore with the new key. All my software versions were DB/PRO
Two ideas: I should not have used different license keys on 1 machine or C1 believes it is a non-Pro version.
Maybe tomorrow morning, I should uninstall C1 5 , Firewire drivers, desactivate the new license, and set it up again.

Tom,
Any luck since your post yesterday?
Chasing the software Product Key is going down the wrong path. If you've activated with a PRO Key (Capture One 4/5) or downloaded and installed a PRO or DB version (Capture One 3) then the camera should connect with no issue.
The best place to start is to ensure that Device Manager see's the P25 as an imaging device and that the driver is installed. If so, and there is no conflict with the driver, then Capture One should connect as usual.
I think we should look at the Laptop itself. If 5.0.1 worked previously, downgrade to that version to test it and lets see if the error is gone... that shouldn't be the case but I'd be interested to know.0 -
Thanks,
i opened a support case and we are working on it.
I desinstalled/reinstalled the driver without luck. The P25 appears in the Device Manager under Camera Device (something like that, my XP is german). When C1 is launched, I get the error message as soon as i tether the camera.
My PCMCIA card is the modell that P1 tested too.
Everything runs fine on the Desktop machines.
I will re-install an older version later today and see what happens.
