    I noticed this too and have the same opinion. However, I do have a quick workaround too!

    After an update, in the Try / Buy / Activate welcome screen I choose Try (DB would do too). While in trial mode, go to Capture One menu > License. Click on the license key shown and choose Activate. Done. No logon or password necessary.
