How do you set the black calibration in a Mamiya RZ?

I'm using a P30+ back with a Mamiya RZ. The recycle time on the back is very inconsistent. Sometimes is recycles at a regular pace and then it'll take twice or three times as long. I've changed the batteries in the camera and winder. I've changed the firewire cable, reset the P-ram, changed out the cable going from the back to the lens and yet it still recycles inconsistently.
I was advised that it could be the black calibration needing to reset itself. How do you set the black calibration in a Mamiya RZ so it doesn't need to constantly reset itself? Thanks so much!
