It sounds as though what you are talking of is like option 2 discussed here

It has the advantages and disadvantages that he suggests.

    Thanks Ian,
That is indeed what I'm talking about.

But when you choose New Session, it asks for a new folder name.
I want it to use an existing folder - like Bridge does.

Do you know how to do that?

    Thanks!

Open an existing session. You can, should you so wish, just have a skeleton session into which you never import anything or associate any "favourite" folders.

Personally I think that is a huge waste of an opportunity to make life easier - but it is an option and I use it from time to time, especially when looking at sample and test files that people have made available on the forum. Stuff that do not expect to have a long term interest in tracking.

If you choose to set up a new session each time then C! will expect to be told about that session - but there is no absolute need to create a lot of new sessions. Just one umbrella session is enough and allows things to be grouped together when and if required.

    Try...

if you're in a catalog: Library tab -> Folders -> + sign (point to a folder)

if you're in sessions: Library tab -> System Folders -> and than find your folder

It should create a CO cache folder inside the one you point to.
I didn't look much into bringing my old work to CO (I used Bridge also).
