? re Hassie and P21
I usually shoot table top with a Canon 1D Mk2 S. The other day I had to use a Hassie 553 ELX with a P21. The only way I could get it to capture was to fire it twice. Any idea what I was doing wrong?

A image back like the P21 needs a signal from the body/shutter that a image is going to be made (wake-up). Have you attached the sync cable for that? 0 -
Please reference the P+ manual.

I have. Also, I am unable to fire the camera from the keyboard. Thanks.0 -
Maybe you would like to provide specifics about your setup, like the cables attached for syncing, flash and tethering. 0 -
The pc cord from the power pack is connected to the P21 back. The 8 pin below that is connected to the 5 pin port on the motor drive. There is a pc to mini between the lens and the mini port on the camera left side. Thanks.
This is Dave A posting from work. Evidently I'm registered twice. Sorry.0 -
This is Dave A the original poster. I've reviewed the ref. manual. I have the latency set to short and I've tested the cables and they're good. They are connected correctly. One further bit of information. When I try to shoot from the camera I get this message: Synchro error check cable. When I try to shoot from the computer I get this message: Shutter synchro error: check cable. Again I can capture an image by pressing the shutter release twice. Also, I can hit Apple K and then hit the shutter release on the camera. Any ideas? 0 -
Have you tried different Lenses as the sync signal from the lens is a dependency of the capture process.
Also, I'd suggest you create a support case and/or get in touch with your local dealer for some more direct assistance.0 -
I just did and nothing changed. I'll set up a support case. Thanks for your help. 0 -
UPDATE -- A recent upgrade to 10.6.8 solved the problem. 0
