Measuring Background Grey?

Hi

We have updated our modelshoot lighting.
The background is a white paper backdrop, lit to provide an even constant light grey.

We would like to shoot our product stills (Jewellery/bags etc. No model. Shot on a smaller white paper backdrop) with a similar shade background.

Is there anyway of measuring the amount of 'grey' in a background, onscreen in Capture One 7? So we can have consistency in our final images across our website.

  The Color Readout feature of CO7 comes to mind.
