Previews focusing?
In the old 3.7 when previews we're generated you could browse your images without it having to update the view like its focusing on the image everytime you went to the next image.
Now in C1 Pro 4.8.2, when i open a folder it generates the thumbs and i wait for it to make the previews. But even after along time it still has to focus on the image before its a ready and sharp preview!
Im almost getting seasick because its out of focus and then focus each time i choose a new picture.
I've tried setting it as a favorite folder with no luck!
Whats the secret here?
Thank you!
Im running XP 64bit on a i7 2.67Ghz Quad Core with 12GB Ram!
I had the same problem with my old XP 32bit Xeon 2.8Ghz with 4GB ram!

You don't say wether this happens on "Fit-to-Screen" ...on my system which is slower than yours that's amost instantaneous....OR on 100% view, which on my system has about the same lag as the former "Focus window" which was a 100% view.....
Personally, I can't wait for the Win 7 upgrade. Vista 64 is very much better than the sunsetted XP64....given your hardware, I think an OS upgrade jump will be immediately beneficial....hopefully you have defragged image drives, and have indexing OFF under XP64 as COne is writing files to your image folder drive...any OS slowdown affects that speed....
I also belive CONe is not yet optimized for 64 bit systems, just like most third party plugins for PS CS4 64 bit are not yet ready either. I suspect that will be a real benefit when that happens....0 -
Its happens on any of the zoom levels and if i have just left it on one size when the thumbs are created. In 3.7 the previews were a fixed size, is this the same in 4 or can it be done so it doesn't have to refocus everytime? Its almost instantly, but it still bothers my eyes. One of the things i loved about C1 was that compared to other programes you just made the previews and then you could work without being annoyed by the refocus, blazing through images in light speed!
I had this problem in XP 32bit also, so its not the x64, even though im also looking forward to Win 7 64.
All drives are defraged and index is off. My OS is on a raptor and the images on a fast server class disk.0 -
FWIW, I use 100% view on a second monitor (and it's the calibrated one), fit to screen on the primary viewer, and thumbs pretty small on the primary monitor which is fairly close to the second, good enough to work on ( if fine adjustments are needed, I use the 100% view as I did the focus window in 3.x)....the time to move image to image is almost nil (the only slight pause is the 100% zoom), and the overall editing experience is so much better than 3.x....
I belive you might be zooming the thumbs? I don't do that, so can't speak to that workflow....but I do belive there is one set size for previews that is camera dependent, so every interoplation would have to be done on the fly.....0
