If you are using a different drive for image storage you would start there. You might try clicking on the storage drive using Windows Explorer and then start CO8 and see if that makes a difference.

Can anyone suggest anything we may have missed when fully removing Capture One? I notice there are no instructions to remove registry entries in the KB article. Any other assistance, much appreciated.

I would guess that there is something different in the set up of that specific machine - something perhaps not obvious that affects the way C1 starts up more than other applications.

C1 creates a log file at start up so you could look in there to see what is going in and perhaps compare it to one or two of your other machines that do not have the delay.

If working out what the log file is telling you sounds rather daunting then open a Support Case and let the C1 support team do the comparison and see what comes of it.

You could also use the Windows Task Manager's Resource Monitoring tool to watch what is going on as the system boots and compare that with one or more of the other machines.

In all honesty I think you need to undertake some forensic analysis for the problem as well as hoping that someone posting here might suggest something that allows you to stumble on a solution - perhaps without then understanding enough about the cause to avoid future problems.

You might also check that all of the systems are indeed identical in all important respects - internal hardware options and their drivers for example plus any other software installed.

But whatever you do - create that support call!

Tip: starting CO8 while keeping the Shift-key pressed, will start the program but not any document (session, catalog). If this improves the startup time, it is something with the session/catalog. If it does not improve startup time, it is something with computer-program setup. Note that a firewall, anti-virus protection can play tricks as well to your performance.

But as Grant said, please open a support case when you suffer a performance issue.
