Recoverd images display corrupt except when making changing
My laptop is dying and I lost 28 gigs of photos. They were accidentally trashed and then recovered with Data Recovery 3. The jpegs open fine but the cr2 images have jagged multi-colored boxes and lines. When I make any white balance or exposure corrections the original image displays correctly while the corrections are being made. As soon as the correction is done the lines come back. Any ideas? There are 4 or 5 solid portfolio pieces that I would love to get back. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When you see the correct image, you are seeing the embedded thumbnail which likely isn't corrupted. When the adjustments are done being applied and the RAW is reread, you see the corrupt image for what it is.
This can also likely be repeated if you zoom in and out of the image. Ultimately the file is corrupt, just a small hint of the original information that is seen for brief moments, giving you false hope.0 -
Oh the pain.
Thanks for your help,
