C1 Pro 6.1.1 crashes when opening Leaf MOS files
C1 Pro 6.1 would only open uncompressed MOS files and wouldn't permit the creation of LCC files at all with MOS files so I upgraded to 6.1.1 on the basis that it should be fixed, right? NO.
Whenever I attempt to import lossless compressed MOS files, the import dialog shows a rectangle for each image but no preview. If I select import all, C1 Pro 6.1.1 crashes completely, every time.
I created a support case 85299 with all crash logs.
I deactivated C1 Pro and followed the KB article on how to completely clean out the previous version before reinstalling 6.1.1 to test.
I assembled the crash reports using the C1 LogCollector and submitted those as part of the support case.
Question to Phase One - do you actually test with Leaf files? It wouldn't appear so because neither I nor my dealer could get MOS file support working properly in 6.1 and 6.1.1 is WORSE and completely unusable for me. 🤬

Btw, C1 Pro 6.1.1 crashes if I navigate to a directory including the MOS files too. I don't have to run import to make it crash.
C1 Pro 5.2.x worked just fine with the same files ...0 -
I am not a Leaf/.mos file expert, but I would suggest to use uncompressed mos file to start with. In case you have compressed mos files, uncompress them with Leaf Raw Converter first to see whether this is working. Have you been using Leaf Capture in the process by the way, because it might affect the CO6 LCC feature. 0 -
Paul,
I'm sure that you're trying to be helpful but in this case it doesn't help at all. I use a technical camera and need to perform LCC correction. LCC correction isn't available with C1 Pro with uncompressed files.
Leaf Capture works perfectly with all of my Leaf files, compressed or uncompressed.
C1 Pro v5.x worked perfectly with all of my Leaf files, compressed or uncompressed.
C1 Pro v6.1.x works with uncompressed files but does not provide LCC support which I need.
C1 Pro v6.1 fails to render compressed Leaf files.
C1 Pro v6.1.1 crashes out to the OS with a program dump with compressed Leaf files. Every single time. This simply cannot have been tested which is totally inexcusable for a product of this price and calibre. I'm in the software business myself and I wouldn't release a product version/update like this - in fact I wouldn't be able to.
If I just shot with an AFD or DF body then there wouldn't be an issue because I could at least just select uncompressed MOS files. However, I NEED LCC for all of my Leaf files so I'm currently dead in the water with v6.1.x and Leaf support.
Everything works fine with IIQ files from my P40+ so native Phase One file support at least is working. Ditto for my Leica M9 DNG files.
Going back to using Leaf Capture is my only current option for Leaf files for me at this point. That's a major step backward in my workflow since I now lose the significant benefits of C1 Pro with my original files. It's a great product overall with all of my files with the exception of Leaf - somewhat ironic don't you think when you consider that Leaf & Phase One files are the native formats for the Phase One family yet I get better support for non-Leaf files at the moment. That is simply inexcusable.
v6.1 seems to be poorly tested from what I can see. I haven't had the other crashes as reported on this forum but maybe I've dodged those bullets.0 -
Graham,
Sorry I could not be of any help. If you are interested to know whether your files open at any other CO 6.x configuration, either Mac or Windows, please let me know and I will try it out for you.0 -
An Update from the support case... We found a bug in 6.1 and 6.1.1 relating specifically to Aptus 65 compressed files from CF card.
6.0.1 can be used in the meantime until a fix is released.0 -
Jon,
Is this Aptus 65 only or is it related to the 65/75 family? The reason I ask is that my dealer was able to reproduce the problem with backs other than the Aptus 65 (which was my case).0 -
Just my tuppence;
I see this bug on my Aptus 75. If I open a folder containing uncompressed files it is fine. However if I open a folder containing one compressed file, C1 crashes.
C1 6.1.1,
Mac pro quad 2.66,
Aptus 75 with latest FW
osx 10.6.6

Thanks Mark,
Yes it appears to be 65/75 family. 6.0.1 should work in the meantime.0 -
When will the fix be released? I am having the same problem with my Alpa 12 camera and my Aptus 75.
Thank you.
