There is an explanation in the knowledge base explaining about the differences in formats.

Thanks. Yes, I understand what the IIQ formats are.

My question is based on the fact that when I open the Preferences window in Capture One v3.7.3, the Capture format field is set to \"Raw - Compatible with 3.1 (tif)\".

I would have expected the default to be set to \"IIQ Raw - Large (tif)\". So, since it isn't, I'm left to wonder if there's a reason. And, since the manual doesn't mention this setting, I turned to this group.

So the question remains - is there any reason NOT to set the Capture format to IIQ Large?

I searched the forum and found a answer from Ulf, one of the guys from Phase One, here is the link to the thread:

Ph1_user. Again, I understand the difference between IIQ large and small. That is not the question I'm asking.

I appreciate your attempt to help but you're answering a question that I'm not asking (twice).

    Michael,

Only the middle two are available on the P45 when untethered.

So, if I typically shoot IIQ Large when untethered, is there any reason not to choose that when tethered?

No - No Reason. Shoot tethered to IIQ RAW - Large
