Expression Media issue
I have not been able to establish a full link yet between CO 6 Express and the latest Expression Media.
Expression Media will open the CO program, but CO 6 does not open the photo file.
Does anybody else have this issue? or have any ideas on a fix?

Yes I have the same issue and was about to post.
It's annoying because all my images are arranged CO5 session sets in EM2 and were sent to CO from there, now to get at a few particular images I have to open a drive full of images in CO6!0 -
Yep. The very same problem! No link between CO6 and EM2. 0 -
I opened a case for the same problem too under windows 7 + capture one pro 6 + expression media 2.
Stay tuned.

Any news? ☹️0 -
I opened a case and was told on Dec 10:
"it seems that this is indeed a problem and an update to Expressions Media might be needed. I have verified this behaviour on my machine and based on your report have submitted it to our developers for fixing.
I am sorry for any inconvenience that this might have caused to your workflow, but currently the only workaround would be to find the file manually using Capture One Library tool as we are not aware of other workarounds. "
That's all I have heard to date.0 -
Thanks for that Jim. 😊
Though I think that statement is a little suspect, they mean to tell us that two digital image programs they own and promote which worked perfectly well together, and now do not was a oversight!
I suspect that CO6 was engineered to work with the next generation EM3 they are working on (and probably a paid upgrade) and so making it work with EM2 was a low priority, or perhaps I'm just being paranoid. 😉0 -

I think that the fix should be rather straightforward. EM2 can cause CO6 to open, but it just can't properly pass the file info necessary for CO6 to open it. This had better not be a paid upgrade fix.0 -
Happy new year to all members of this blog.
I got the same answer from PhaseOne support (don't have a fix so open the files manually).
I tried Capture One 6.0.1 with the hope the bug might be fixed (but not severe enough to be announced in the release notes). But the bug is still here.
I have a fix on my own but i don't know it is worth being made public as it needs one (free) programming software (it is called PERL - I am a computer techie in fact). It is quite simple : you add one small program as a new "open with" application, you select your images, you launch this program (small bug at this time: the program is launched N times for N images), it takes note of the files you want to open but does nothing more. Then you launch a second program of my own that launches CaptureOne 6 which this time opens the selected files. It is a hack but if someone is interested, I can polish it a bit more. The bug gave me some ideas for my workflow and as paradoxal it may sound, the bug was useful to me 😉
Best regards.
