Does this happen if the capture is zoomed "to fit" or at higher zoom leveles, too?

Both, regardless of whether I'm zoomed in to check sharpening of just at fit window. It takes an age whatever adjustment is being made.
Beginning to make think about going back to taking sheets of film to the lab. at least that way you get a break from staring at a computer screen & can get on with something useful:)

Strange. At zoomlevel "to fit" (or anything below 25%) adjustments of P45 files are previewed more or less in realtime (very, very short redraw) here on Windows Vista 32bit, 4x2.4GHz, 4GB RAM and as well on Macbook OSX10.5.5, 2x 2.4GHz, 3GB RAM. At higher zoomlevels (25% and above) there is a lag no more than 1 second (both on PC and the small Macbook). So this is not a general issue of C1 4.5.1 (4.5.2 on Mac).

I am also having problems with redrawing , it is making the adjustment process so tedious,is it possible to disable the redraw .
To say this is not a general issue is a little contentious ,Working in real time is something that should be regarded as a given ,every other programme I use works like that ,it would be a concern if Phase one regarded a second delay for every adjustment as normal

True. I was referring to the difference between zoom levels above and below 25%. Because basically adjusments below 25% have no lag (just do have a fast redraw in "sharpness"). Or better: a noticeable shorter lag than previews at higher zoom levels. So it's not a general issue of C1 if even the small previews have a lag of a second or longer.

I don't think you are missing anything nor are your settings wrong.

Sadly this is just the slow way it is. I'm experiencing the same problem with a very similar setup up. Also 10gig of ram but using two Eizo CG211 in dual screen mode.

Let's face it the whole program is painfully slow. I wonder what it's like on a laptop that isn't "ramed up" to 10 or so.

    Yep, me too!!!

Learning the new cumbersome interface is one thing but it is so slow....
    Slowest thing I've ever used.

If I just want to adjust the exposure by a percent or two it takes about five seconds to refresh...if the change is close but not quite, another adjustment, another refresh!!......yet another cup of coffee.

Don't even want to discuss images that need some real tweaking.
This can't really be considered a pro tool at these speeds...Can It???

    Hi List
Just to add my voice the redraw speeds are my biggest gripe, I have been using v4.5.2 now for the last week (since the new build)
When clicking from one preview thumb to another it takes a real age.. it makes using the new version a tiresome experience, in the end you are always working ahead as your being held back from your normal workflow.. This is pro software but the speed isn't..

I have heard that a new build will solve this issue, can Phase tell us when to expect this update.. ?? when this is fixed I can get on and really make the most of version 4.
    Thanks Andy
