Workflow suggestions?
First post. I have been using Lightroom since the first beta version. Although it has some great features I was never really comfortable with the quality of the output or the cataloging. After trying C1 4.8 I was startled by the difference in the raw conversions. So I bit the bullet and bought the Pro version. I also have Expression Media (upgraded to ver. 2) but never really used it because I wanted to give Lightroom it due process.
I am now looking at changing my entire workflow based on ImageIngester Pro, C1 and EM2 and would like some input from some of the more experienced users. I am a landscape photographer so my cataloging needs are not as complex as studio/production shooters. I have also read Peter Kroghs new book on DAM. It is really geared more towards Adobe products and EM.
I am hoping for a lively discussion......;0)
Best Regards,

Nothing terribly lively about cataloging, it's pure drudgery imo. For non-tethered shooting which I'm assuming you mean EM works well for the initial edit and from there you can fire the winners off to C1 sessions for processing. EM as well for archiving and cataloging. Never used imageingester. I think some of the dam experts may make things a little complicated.
Have fun 😉

I was hoping someone out there had some common sense. I think I may even lose ImageIngester just to simplify things. It's "Rocket Science" don't ya know. KISS works so much better.
Thanks for your input.
Life is FUN 😄

Well, I have finally come up with what I think is a good start for a C1-EM2 workflow. I have posted a diagram on my blog(http://www.onehorsestudio.com/weblog). I have also made a larger version available. I think the hardest part is trying to keep it simple. Why is it so easy to make things complicated 😕
I am open to any suggestions that some of the veterans might have.0 -
My workflow uses C1 and LR2, similar to the workflow Michael Reichmann uses (see Luminous-Landscapes.com). I use PhotoMachnic to import the raw images into a file and to a backup drive. I then bring them up in C1 pro, make corrections and then export them as tifs to another file. Those tifs are then uploaded into LR2. I use LR2 to categorize the images, keyword, and use it to access plug-ins or CS4.
It works for me.0
