What affects performance more? CPU or GPU?
Or RAM?
I have a Mid 2010 Mac Pro 2.8 GHz Quad, 16 GB RAM, SSD and a Sapphire HD 7950 graphics card.
Capture One 8.x flew on this machine, sliders reacted instantaneously and the preview updated in real time.
Image export was super fast.
Now with v9.x export is still superb, but slider response and preview update leave a lot to desire.
Sliders feel sticky up to the point that it's almost unusable.
Now I am considering either upgrading my computer with a Nvidia GTX980Ti card and 32 GB RAM or getting a new machine with more CPU power (most likely 4 GHz iMac).
What has more influence on Capture One's performance? I have only experience with an upgraded GPU from when I replaced the standard card with the Sapphire - a tremendous improvement.
But I have never compared with more current CPUs. So I am unsure what would get me a bigger performance boost for Capture One.
Any hints or experience appreciated!

Seems clear that the new version of this software has some issues. Did you file a support ticket?0 -
Did you try to set OpenCL for display to "Never" and compare the stickiness?
If it feels the same it points to the gfx card somehow ...
... I have read somewhere in the forum that a user had to delete some image core binary (not sure which file it was) and start C1 9 such that this binary is recompiled or something similar.0 -

in /Users/Shared/CaptureOne/ImageCore, delete the file ICOCL.bin. CaptureOne 9 will recreate it automatically.0
