new "Auto" Curve option in Base Characteristics
Hi,
Where in the C1v8 manual can I find a description of the new "Auto" Curve option in the Base Characteristics tool?
My Olympus .ORF files still default to the film curve, but my Leaf Credo .IIQ files now default to this "Auto" curve instead of "Product", which I had chosen as the default curve in v7.
thanks,
Gebhard

This isn’t a new Curve in itself, it’s simply an automatic selection of the most relevant Curve for a certain image. This usually takes the form of the Film Standard Curve; however, as the developers point out, Auto Curve was made for future updates, at which point it will perhaps become more useful. 0 -

Not quite: what it means is to automatically pick the appropriate curve (from the list of Film standard, Linear, Extra shadow etc) for the profile that was designed to be used with (it is not image dependent). In most cases, our profiles shipped with Capture One work best with film standard.0 -
Thanks! Now I understand why, when using the "Leaf LF3 Product 5" ICC profile with my Leaf Credo 40 files, the the "Auto" curve setting looks the same as the "Product" curve.
I think you should add this information to the manual.
best,
